Welcome to Asbury UMC Children’s Ministry!

UPTOWN (Sunday Mornings)

 Children’s Church 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

At Asbury, worship begins on Sunday mornings and our children worship with us. They lead us into the sanctuary as Acolytes, Bible Bearers and Torch Bearers. When we celebrate Baptism and Holy Communion, they participate. They join Pastor Kip Laxson for a children's moment during every Traditions service or worship however they're comfortable with Pastor Robert Mercer in The Bridge.

For parents who would like their children to participate in Children's Church, Kindergartners through second graders have the opportunity to experience intentional faith development through prose, proclamation, and prayer in small classroom settings.

On Sunday, August 11, all children (nursery and elementary-school students) move up to their new Sunday School classrooms for the 2019/2020 school year.

Sunday School 9:45 – 10:45 AM

First through fourth grades will meet in Room 214 (Children’s Assembly) at 9:45 a.m. for a Bible story, songs, and prayer. At 10:00 a.m. they will go to their grade-specific classroom led by dedicated volunteers for small groups. The leaders will reinforce the lesson with crafts, games, and discussion.

Parents, you can pick up your children from the following classrooms at 10:45 a.m.

DOWNTOWN (Wednesday Nights), 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Downtown—for children ages K5 to fifth grade—has whole new format! Students use music to praise and glorify God and then engage in Bible study, small groups, and games through ministry.

  • Kindergarten through second grade students begin in Room 225

  • Third through fifth grade students begin in Room 143.

Music is also offered for preschool children! Children will praise God through song from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. (in Room 218) and then go to the nursery for a lesson and free play. Nursery care is offered from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
